Ragged Mountain is excited to offer two options for aspiring Master’s athletes. Our Saturday program offers a combination of guided free-skiing drills to enhance skill building, along with gate training. Our Mid-Week training offers an opportunity for more focused gate training under a highly qualified coach. Mid-week training consists almost entirely of gate training with video review when appropriate. Sign up for both programs to create a very comprehensive Masters training schedule! These programs are perfect for adults, 18 and up, who want to experience the fun and excitement of racing. Master’s programs begin in early December, and conclude in mid to late March. Training is held on Saturdays 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, or on Tuesdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Commitment and time at this level is dependent on the participants’ wants and competitive needs. While a formal background in racing is not required, participants are required to be advance skiers with the ability to ski all groomed terrain, and in all conditions. The program will focus on skiing fundamentals, including stance, turn shape, parallel position and transitions between turns. Once achieved and comfortable on skis then gate drills focused on technical events (SL and GS). There is also the potential for speed training using speed elements constructed on specified runs. All designed drills will be up to the coach and athletes but based on skill development, technique and tactics. Participation in events will not be required, but will be open for those interested in them and will be what is listed by both USSA and NEMS.
This program is all about improvement and having fun!
Both programs carry a fee of $450.
