If you’re looking for a more personalized attention to help build your skills, a private lesson is probably the best option for you! Private lessons are available to skiers and riders of all ability levels. Whether it is your first time on the slopes, or you have been skiing or riding for years, working one-on-one with a professional instructor is the best way to tailor the lesson experience to your needs. Advanced reservations are preferred for scheduling. Private lessons can be arranged without reservations depending on instructor availability. Participants are required to have a valid lift ticket. Ragged will send a confirmation email to each Private Lesson participant with arrival and meeting location instructions prior to their arrival day.

If you’re looking for a group experience, a group lesson is a great choice. We have groups ranging from beginner to advanced levels available. Our 1 hour and 45 minute, group lessons run daily at 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Please be sure to arrive 45 minutes before your scheduled start time. We want to maximize your time on the slopes and begin organizing groups a few minutes before lesson time to ensure a prompt start! Group Lessons will be limited to a maximum class size of 5 participants. Ragged will send a confirmation email with arrival and meeting location instructions to each Group Lesson participant prior to their arrival day.

To determine your ability level, take a look at the list below.

Green: You will learn the basic fundamentals including how to stop and control your speed by turning. Green level lessons are introduced on our surface lifts as well as the Barnyard Triple chairlift.
Blue: Refine your skills on some of our steeper, more challenging terrain. This level is perfect for intermediate skiers who are looking to bring their ability to the next level. At the blue level, you will learn different turn shapes, get an introduction to carving, managing bumps and variable terrain.
Black: Explore and discover what Ragged Mountain Resort has to offer, the mountain is your playground. The black level lesson is a great way to perfect your skills.

Mountain Cruisers is the Ragged Mountain Learning Center’s 10 week seasonal program for skiers looking for a non-competition, skills based program. This program averages a 6:1 student to coach ratio for the ultimate in personal development. Participants with similar interests and abilities are grouped accordingly and will ski with the same select group of coaches for 10 weeks. This is not a competition-based program, if athletes are looking for competition coaching and support, they will be directed to the Alpine Program. Our program does more than just develop each participant’s all mountain skills, it also fosters camaraderie and promotes respect for other skier and riders, both in and out of the program.

Eligibility: Ages 7-12 and must be a minimum of a green skier and ride the chairlift

When: 10 Saturdays from 9:00am-12:00pm starting on January 7.

Group Size Minimum of 4 students per group, with a maximum of 10 students per group in the advanced classes.

Ability Requirements Must be able to ride chairlifts and navigate intermediate terrain without a wedge prior to enrolling in the program.

Adventure Camp is the ideal place for your child to learn to ski or snowboard. Each child is placed with a skilled instructor and together they work on the fundamentals of skiing or snowboarding. The program is designed for skiers and riders of beginner and intermediate skill level. For your convenience, we are offering half day lessons and full day lessons.

Ages 6 – 12.
For intermediate and beginner skiers and riders.
Half-day lessons run approximately 2 hours. Full-day lessons run approximately 2 hours in the morning followed by a lunch break, where every child must be picked up by a parent/guardian and returned for the 2 hour afternoon lesson.

Details
Our Adventure Camp program is designed for beginner to intermediate level skiers. Our qualified instructors will show your little ones the in’s and out’s of the sport through the use of age appropriate, on-snow lessons and games.

Our full-day program is on-snow from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, parents are responsible for picking their kids up and dropping back off at 1:00 PM. The group will be back out on snow until the lessons finish up at 3:00 PM.

For our half-day programs, you can choose from the morning session, which goes out at 10:00 AM and gets back at 12:00 PM, or the afternoon session, which goes out at 1:00 PM and gets back at 3:00 PM.

Regardless of which session you decide on, be certain to arrive to the mountain at least one hour prior to your lesson.
