Summertime in the Lakes Region of NH

The last lingering swath of snow on Showboat Headwall melted off over the holiday weekend and we have now transitioned into summer and wedding season at Ragged Mountain.  The majority of our weekends are booked for private parties and weddings, but a sought after fall weekend has just recently become available!  September 30, 2023 is now open for anyone looking for that gorgeous autumn setting in the mountains on their special day.  Please contact our Wedding and Events Manager, Jessica at (603) 768-3166 or email weddings@raggedmountainresort.com for more information.

Our central Lakes Region location offers several vantage points where couples can share their vows overlooking the mountains and reception in Elmwood Lodge can cater to groups up to 200 individuals.  Additional 2023 wedding date currently available - August 12.

Our capital improvement plan will be implemented over the next several months.  These projects consist of rebuilding and relocating snowmaking guns throughout the slopes of both peaks, improved efficiencies in our snowmaking pumps and system, a new haul rope on Barnyard, additional service to both the Summit Six Express and Spear Mountain chairlifts, and some interior renovations to the Learning Center & Rental Department.

2023-24 Mission Affordable Season Passes are currently available - now is the time to commit to skiing and riding with us next winter!  Be sure to lock in at one of the best season pass deals in all of New England!

The 2022-23 Winter Has Ended

On behalf of the entire Ragged Mountain team, we would like to thank you for another memorable winter full of fun turns. Our staff overcame adversity with the challenging mild start and limited natural snow, but our quality snow surfaces and guest experience continued to be on point. The later half of the winter was astounding, as the storms stacked up and 100% of our terrain opened - you realize what makes Ragged so special and unique.

It is currently 75 degrees out and the snowpack is melting away rapidly. Mountain Operations and Ski Patrol continue cleaning up both summits and preparing them for off season. Uphill traffic is permitted, but please respect that it is 'AT YOUR OWN RISK' and there are many hazards throughout both mountains. We ask that you please be mindful that they are not patrolled.

We are now looking forward to a summer full of weddings and celebrations! So the time has come to put that last thick coat of wax on your skis and boards and put them to rest for the months to come. This off-season we have many exciting new capital improvements planned and we look forward to having our community back at beautiful Ragged Mountain next winter.

2023-24 Mission Affordable Season Passes are available NOW for $499 - be sure to commit to skiing and riding with us next sinter and lock in one of the best season pass deals in all of New England!

    Miracle March Delivers

Just as the Farmers' Almanac weather folklore says, March has certainly come in like a lion and may or may not go out like a lamb.  The forecast continues to look favorable and winter has really turned on at Ragged Mountain!  We will have to wait and see how the rest of the month shakes out, but we remain optimistic that the snow will continue to fly.

March is fairly busy with fun things to do every weekend, keep an eye on our EVENT CALENDAR and come join us for guaranteed good times!

Lift ticket sales may be limited to ensure a quality mountain experience. Due to anticipated high demand, especially during peak holiday periods, lift tickets and rentals must be purchased online in advance. In the event lift tickets sell out, guests will not be able to buy them in-resort at the ticket window.  Season pass holder, Quad Packs, Buddy Tickets purchased with the passholder present are guaranteed access.

    Slopes

We currently have 100% of our terrain open, skiing and snowboarding on 57 trails and 250 acres of terrain!  This includes all 17 glades and some rarely open trails such as Cemetary Gates, Double Take, Triple Take and Raggedy Ann.  Our snow base depths are averaging 18 - 30 inches across all trails and ski slopes.  Please check our mobile app and MOUNTAIN REPORT on the website daily for the latest skiing and riding conditions.

    Lift Operations

All 5 lifts - the Summit Six Express, Spear Mountain Express, Barnyard Triple, and Carpet 1 lifts are loading guests seven days a week.  We continue to operate the Wanna Be Wild surface lift Friday through Sundays.

    Grooming / Terrain Parks

Our grooming and snow surfaces continue to gain notoriety throughout the northeast.  We are so fortunate to have the experienced and talented snowcat operator team we do - kudos to them!  Grooming will continue to adjust between evenings and mornings depending on temperatures and when optimal conditions set up.  All terrain parks including the full Wild Side, Barnyard and Lower Chute BX course are in fine form right now.  The park crew has done a tremendous job hand-shaping and maintaining all the lips throughout the parks.

    Approaching President's Week

We have surpassed the mid-winter mark and despite the low natural snowfall and mild temperatures we have been facing, the conditions have been very enjoyable!  It seems as though we haven't faced any ice this season, just eternal packed powder or soft spring-like surface conditions.  As we approach President's week you can expect more of the same.  Grooming times will vary over the next week between just after close or early morning hours depending on when the snow sets up.

    Slopes

We are skiing and snowboarding on 32 trails and 132 acres of terrain currently.  The crust layer that developed during the tailout of our last significant snowfall continues to be persistent in the glades and natural snow trails.  Ski Patrol will continue to asses the surfaces and open when deemed safe for the public, but the freeze thaw cycles we have recently seen have made it a challenge. Our base depths are averaging 18 - 30 inches across all trails and ski slopes.

    Grooming

Our grooming team continues to knock it out of the park with their consistent, seamless, velvety snow surfaces they have been providing us!  Combine that and with the sunshine we have seen over the last several days and you are bound to have a memorable day on the slopes. Lower Wild Side continues to take shape and we plan to open the full terrain park very soon.  Snowmaking has moved onto Upper Chute and the crew is laying out and developing the boardercross course.

Over TWO FEET of snow this past week!

We received over two feet of snow accumulation this past week and the skiing and riding has been phenomenal!  The forecast is calling for some snow showers over the next couple of days followed by a stretch of cold temps through midweek that should enable our snowmaking team to continue expanding on terrain.

    Slopes

We are currently skiing and snowboarding on 27 trails and 125 acres of terrain.  There is great base depth in the glades after this past week's snowfall, we will continue to asses the surface crust and open when Ski Patrol deems it safe for the public. Our base depths are averaging 18 - 30 inches across all trails and surface conditions consist of primarily machine groomed with variable conditions secondary.  Please check our social channels, mobile app and MOUNTAIN REPORT on the website daily for the latest updates.

    Lift Operations

All 5 lifts - the Summit Six Express, Spear Mountain Express, Barnyard Triple, Carpet 1 and Wanna Be Wild surface lifts are loading guests Friday through Sunday.  During the early end of the week we do not offer the Wanna Be Wild surface lift.
