Mother Nature provided us some operational challenges over the last couple of days, but our team has risen to the task. We plan to operate skiing and snowboarding December 23 through January 1 from 8:30am - 4:00pm. Please check our social channels, mobile app, and mountain report on the website daily for the latest updates.
Lift ticket sales may be limited to ensure a quality mountain experience. Due to anticipated high demand, especially during peak holiday periods, lift tickets and rentals must be purchased online in advance. In the event lift tickets sell out, guests will not be able to buy them in-resort at the ticket window. Season pass holder, Quad Packs, Buddy Tickets purchased with the passholder present are guaranteed access.
We are currently skiing & riding on 17 slopes with an average base of 16 - 26 inches. Open slopes consist of Barnyard, Beginner Basin, Blueberry, Raggedy Andy, Lower Chute, Main St., The Meadows, Upper Chute, Village Green, Newfound Ridge, Upper Ridge, Wild Side, Wild Ride, Headwall, Upper Crewcut and Flying Yankee.
We are currently operating 4 lifts; The Summit Six Express, Spear Mountain Express, Barnyard Triple, and Carpet 1 in the Meadows learning area.
Our snowmaking team is taking advantage of the foreseeable forecast with these cold productive temperatures. They are currently based on Showboat, Showoff and Cardigan, as the week progresses expect to see more slopes open.

We plan to kick off the 2022-23 winter season tomorrow Friday, December 9, 2022 – woohoo!
We will be offering top-to-bottom runs for all ability levels off the Summit Six Express high speed detachable six-person chairlift and learning terrain using the Carpet 1 surface lift. We anticipate opening with seven trails and 28 acres of skiable terrain on a base depth of 18” to 24”, with more terrain opening as snowmaking progresses.

As we enter the month of August our Mountain Operations team is beginning to implement capital improvements in preparation for the winter months to come. This includes added efficiencies to our snowmaking system, updates to the Summit Six, Spear Mountain Express and Barnyard chairlifts, interior renovations to the Learning Center, Rental Department and basement entrance to Elmwood Lodge. New and improved equipment is being installed in Harvest Cafe along with all Food and Beverage departments. The wildflowers have come and gone, glades are getting trimmed and the ski slopes are starting to get prepared for snow.
Our wedding business continues to grow with our centrally located venue accommodating groups of 75 to 200 in recent weeks. We recently hosted a number of large gatherings such as Proctor Academy and Newfound High School's Prom events. That's right, Ragged Mountain makes for a unique venue to host that team building exercise or staff appreciation party you have been considering. Our centrally located venue can cater groups of up to 200 individuals with dining space to seat everyone together in Elmwood Lodge. Our team came together to overcome a mild winter with limited natural snow and was able to provide the quality snow surfaces and guest experience we have come to love about our mountain. Our spring signature event series saw record attendance and left lasting impressions for all those who participated. As the snow melts away our Mountain Ops and Ski Patrol teams are cleaning up Ragged and Spear peaks and putting them to rest. Ski touring is permitted, but please respect that it is 'AT YOUR OWN RISK' and there are many hazards throughout both mountains, please be mindful that they are not patrolled. We are now looking forward to a summer full of weddings and celebrations! So the time has come to put that last thick coat of wax on your skis and boards and set them aside for the months to come. Many exciting new capital improvements will be happening this summer and we look forward to having our community back at beautiful Ragged Mountain next winter!

Our Ski Patrol staff continue to monitor terrain and drop ropes when coverage permits. Come enjoy some turns mid-week and wide open carving on fresh corduroy can be found all to yourself!

The forecast remains optimistic and temperatures will soon drop once again. This will enable us to fire up the snowmaking guns and continue blowing snow on Showboat, Cardigan, Wanna Be Wild, and Barnyard Terrain Park through the upcoming week. We plan to continue assessing and open our uphill route sometime this week, once the snow conditions soften a bit. Please stay posted for updates as we monitor snow conditions.
