Welcome to Saturday, December 30! Temperatures today are forecast to be a little warmer today, with highs in the low teens, but it's definitely still going to be a cold one, so be sure to bundle up and keep your eyes peeled for early signs of frostbite.
While you're waiting to warm up, why not stop by the Stone Hearth Bar for some hot chili and great drinks. This weekend, 603 Brewery will be taking over the taps in the bar, bringing along favorites like their 18 Mile Rye Pale Ale, Winni Amber Ale, White Peaks IPA, Wood Devil Double IPA, and their Coffee Cake Porter! We're in for an exciting weekend. See you soon!Last Edited by Ragged Mountain on Saturday, December 30, 2017
...And all across the resort, conditions are holding because our mountain ops team ROCKS!
Conditions today will be a soft, frozen granular surface which will be very fun to carve some turns in. While some may see yesterday’s freezing rain as a bad thing, it has actually helped in a couple of ways. One it helped to generate a nice firm base in the woods which will be great for the New Year and tree skiing/riding. Two it recharged our snowmaking ponds giving us more water as we look to continue the snowmaking program on Spear this week. What does all this mean… with the cold temps and snow in the forecast for this week, the skiing and riding for the holiday week should be fantastic!
Don’t forget to spend the last few minutes of 2017 with us at our annual New Year’s Eve Party. There will be plenty of dancing, fireworks, a great dinner, and specials from the 603 Brewery. Reserve your seats today, or grab some friends and go in on a table. Call 603-768-3166 to get your tickets, space is becoming extremely limited.Last Edited by Ragged Mountain on Sunday, December 24, 2017

Today is Sunday, December 17, and the conditions are expected to be amazing. Our groomers were hard at work last night in the snow squalls pushing out the snow on Lower Ridge and Headwall, so you can expect these trails to be open sometime today!
Birches Mountain Restaurant will also be open today from 11 am to 4 pm. Birches is located on the second floor of the Elmwood Lodge. Be sure to stop on by and grab lunch with the family!Last Edited by Ragged Mountain on Sunday, December 17, 2017
As the weekend comes to a close and more snow begins to fall from the sky, we think about how great it feels to be back on the slopes! What a fun day, and what a great start to the 2017/18 season.
The good news is things are just beginning! There is more snow in the forecast for the next week and continued cold temps. This will allow our team to continue making snow across Ragged Peak. The goal is to see more terrain opening up soon, so keep an eye on the daily Slope Report for updates!
Also make sure to check out the upcoming events this month. Along with live music every Saturday from 4 pm to 7 pm in the Stone Hearth Bar, there will also be fun events both on and off the mountain. On December 23rd, the New Hampshire Mountain Inn welcomes Santa for breakfast from 9 am to 1 pm. Then at the Mountain we’re hosting the Squared Up Rail Jam, featuring DJ Scrumptious, and the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony! Then on New Year’s Eve we’re throwing a huge party to help usher in 2018! Well, National Bike to Work Day has come and gone. A couple of us did make the ride in on what ended up being quite a spectacular day. The commute brought us 40+ miles to work and back along beautiful stream lined dirt roads, rail trails, and New Canada Road with its views off to Cardigan Mountain. These miles also counted towards our Ragged Mountain Resort Cycling Team’s National Bike Challenge log.
The changing of the season here at Ragged Mountain brings with it a bunch of formal events that we host. From High School Proms, Graduation Parties, Family Reunions, and Weddings, we can host many different formal and semi-formal events for a wide range of budgets. Check out our Weddings and Groups Sales page for more info or shoot us an email.

Mother Nature has jumped on board this week, helping to make our Mission even better! It’s been snowing like crazy, and ski patrol has been opening more of Ragged Mountain’s finest gladed terrain all week. This week brought 6 inches of new snow on Tuesday and another 13 inches on Thursday. That has brought our trail count up to 53, including the bowl between Ragged and Spear Peaks. Now it looks like there is even more in the immediate forecast. The skiing and riding this weekend is going to be amazing!
The Terrain Park Team has been re-sculpting the lower half of our park all week and have 13 new features ready for some fun this weekend. Make sure to check out the new wall ride.
Between the trees, the beautifully groomed trails, and a bomber new park, there is a lot to get psyched for this week.

That’s not all that’s in store for this weekend though…
Saturday, we have a USASA Slope Style Event happening in the park. Practice starts at 8:30 am, the contest will go throughout the day. Make sure to swing by the top of the park to check out the action! After the contest, swing by the Stone Hearth Bar for a pint, some chilly, and some good tunes as we welcome the Chuck N’ John band back!
Sunday, make sure to check out the Sport Thoma Demo happening right at the base area. Check out the latest gear from great brands like Rossignol, Volkl, K2, and many more. This is a great mid-season “Try Before You Buy” opportunity.
We’ll see you this weekend!

This weekend was an all out celebration of good times with friends, family and of course skiing and snowboarding! Thanks to our amazing team of snowmakers and groomers our trails were in tip top shape, even after the rain and warm temps last week.
The only thing that could make the conditions any better here would be some snow. Evening forecasts for the area are calling for 7 inches of the good stuff! We'll be sure to update the snow report first thing tomorrow with our totals.
