Spring is Here!

As winter fades and spring is right around the corner, we’re starting to prepare for the warmer months. Just recently, we have sown our vegetable gardens and will be looking forward to a tasty crop later in the year. We’re looking forward to whipping up some tasty eats with the bounties of our harvest! We’ve also gone ahead and restocked our pond with rainbow trout. Be sure to bring your fishing rod and cast a line on a nice sunny day to enjoy the peace and quiet as you soak up the rays.

Keep your eyes peeled for some upcoming events as we press forward into the summer. If you love mystery, you’ll definitely want to be a part of our exciting Murder Mystery Weekend. For those who are looking for a more peaceful and relaxing getaway, we’ll also be holding Yoga and Wellness Retreats throughout the summer. If you fancy yourself a foodie, be sure to check back for more details regarding our Culinary and Wine Tasting Weekend. Check our events page frequently to keep up with details on any of these and more!

The History of Our Beautiful Inn

In the late 18th century, the original farmhouse served as a boarding house for arriving railroad workers from Boston. Later it served as a country mountain inn for travelers, and more recently as a large family compound. Throughout that time, it has most famously served as an exquisite location for parties and events, especially those of the large family kind — beautiful weddings, significant birthdays, and fantastic family reunions.

Parts of the property have been updated, but much of the Inn is just the way it has always been. The original wood floors and hewn beams overhead speak of an era gone by, but they are the framework for the same comfort found today in the historic sitting room with the fireplace, the winding carved staircase, and the inviting bedrooms. They are all part of this history cloaked retreat in the woods.
